Vedder came to us as an owner surrender when his owners fell on hard times and could no longer keep him. He was born on 12/1/18. His dad is a pure bred Lab and mom is a mix of German Shepherd/Malamute/Husky. When Vedder first arrived we noticed he had an issue with his rear leg. After several medications not helping several xrays were taken. This led us to an orthopedic surgeon. Vedder had a completely torn ACL accompanied by cartilage damage. He had surgery to repair the issues and has been healing for the past 6 weeks. Now that he is healed he is ready to find his new home. Vedder is a sweet boy who knows quite a bit but still has more to learn. He had no idea what a leash was and due to his surgery we were unable to do much training with him. He is extremely strong so can pull pretty hard when he wants to. He is getting better daily with constant leash work. He does know sit, down, no, and we are working on stay now. He is a huge guy but thinks he can still fit in your lap lol. With more training he will be a wonderful addition to the right home. We are looking for someone who has experience with large breed dogs , a secure physical fence would be best. He would do best with no small children as he will definitely knock them down while playing. Fine with female dogs but not good with cats. He is neutered, current on preventatives, up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines and microchipped. If interested in possible adoption please go to www.DelawareRescue.com and complete the online adoption application.
